According to media reports, Deepika and Ranveer Singh got officially engaged on Monday as they exchanged rings in a traditional ceremony. The engagement was followed by the mehendi function on Tuesday afternoon, and a sangeet the same day.
Along with Harshdeep Kaur, singer Sanjoy Das, along with Bobby Pathak and Firoz Khan performed at the DeepVeer sangeet ceremony. Shubha Mudgal was also seen performing a thumri at the sangeet which teared Deepika up.
Because Deepika and Ranveer have restricted all pictures of their wedding on social media, sadly there is nothing for their fans to feast their eyes upon. The wedding is to be held amongst a tight circle of friends and family making about 40 guests for the celebrations.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will tie the knot in holy matrimony today and tomorrow, i.e. 14th and 15th of November. The ceremonies will take place according to Konkani and Sindhi wedding traditions to pay homage to Deepika’s Kannada and Ranveer’s North Indian heritage. A North Indian style Anand Karaj ceremony, reportedly in Sikh tradition, will take place on Thursday. The couple is expected to host a private dinner on Thursday evening, before leaving Lake Como. DeepVeer are also being reported to depart on a brief honeymoon before resuming work. A grand wedding reception is scheduled for friends from the Bollywood fraternity on November 28th in Mumbai.
Deepika and Ranveer have been in a relationship for six years now. The couple will finally culminate the relationship, making it official today and tomorrow.
