Emmys 2022 Nominations: Its going to be Succession vs Squid Game

The nominations for the 74th Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday.

HBO has led all nominations by platform, with a total of 108 noms, edging out Netflix.

OTT platform Netflix has earned 105 nominations.

HBO’s Succession received a leading 25 Emmy nominations while  Netflix’s Squid Game, the hit South Korean drama earned the best drama nomination and 13 other bids.

Squid Game’ makes history as the first non-English language series to be nominated for the Emmy.

Better Call Saul received 7 total nominations at this year’s Emmys.

While Selena Gomez has become the second Latina since Salma Hayek in 2007 to be nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series as a producer on Only Murders in the Building.

Zendaya has made history as the youngest two-time acting nominee at the Emmys.

Adam Scott, Reese Witherspoon, and Jason Bateman have also scored nominations in the acting category.

Actor-comedian JB Smoove and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Melissa Fumero announced the nominees.

The 74th Emmy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on September 12, 2022
