Netflix cancels ‘Daredevil’ after three seasons

The streaming service Netflix has canceled “Daredevil” after three seasons and will not return for season 4. The superhero action-drama Daredevil season 3 debuted just a few weeks ago in October, starring Charlie Cox as the blind hero protecting Hell’s Kitchen.

Notably, Daredevil was the first Marvel/Netflix show to hit the service back in 2015.

The announcement was made by the Netflix spokesperson, saying, “Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note”.

The statement further says, “We’re thankful to showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years. While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel”.

This is the third Marvel series to be canceled at Netflix in recent weeks, after the cancelation of ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Luke Cage’. Now only ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘The Punisher’ remain on Netflix.

As being reported, the cancellations have come as Disney preps for its own streaming service, and have begun to pull back the rights to films and television projects licensed to Netflix.

As soon as this news got public, there has been a massive reaction over twitter over this Netflix’s decision, as it was one of the most favorite web-series. The first reaction was shared by the cast and the crew of the critically acclaimed web series.
