Thugs of Hindostan has record opening around the world!

Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs of Hindostan released yesterday and even though the film has not received a number of good reviews, it has raked in a lot of moolah. Thugs of Hindostan has reportedly recorded the highest single-day sales for a Hindi movie collecting around Rs 52.25 crore. Although the initial earnings have come in from the massive advanced booking ticket sales, the Diwali weekend has begun and Thugs of Hindostan is expected to earn more over the weekend.

According to Boxofficeindia Thugs of Hindostan has surpassed the previous record of Rs 39.32 crore set by Salman Khan’s 2015 Diwali release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Rs 40.73 crore achieved by Bahubali.

Also according to Box Office Detail in Pakistan, the film has had an impressive start considering that it released on a weekday. Thugs of Hindostan earned Rs 1.70 Crore which happens to be the biggest day one ever for any Diwali release in Pakistan.

A period saga, Thugs of Hindostan, stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Katrina Kaif. The film is set in the pre-partition era and showcases a thug’s quest of survival with his band.
