Pakistan has started delivering fruit to Russia via a 6,000 km land route!
Pakistan achieved a milestone in regional trade as sixteen trucks of National Logistics Corporation (NLC) laden with oranges entered two Russian cities of Derbent and Grozny covering almost six thousand kilometers’ distance on March 10.
NLC is a state-owned enterprise facilitating the export of Pakistani products including bananas, meat, and seafood to Central Asia and China.
Russia applaued the NLC’s efforts and expressed gratitude for helping to develop bilateral trade between the two nations.
Last year in September, goods from Russia reached Pakistan under the Transport International Routes (TIR) Convention, a global transit system enabling the movement of goods across borders without intermediate customs checks.
Pakistan and Uzbekistan, both signatories of the TIR Convention, have taken significant steps to enhance bilateral trade this year, including the signing of a $1 billion trade deal last month.
