Selena Gomez has confirmed her return to music by announcing a new song “Single Soon”!
The singer announced that while her next album isn’t quite ready yet, she will be dropping her new song “Single Soon” next week, nearly in a year.
“Y’all have been asking for new music for a while,” Selena wrote on Instagram on Aug. 17 alongside a series of snapshots, including a few that showed her rocking some fabulous fashion in a car.
“Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now,” she added.
Teaser images in the slider post include polaroids of Gomez with friends and one image with a sticky note featuring the infamous breakup message Jack Berger gave Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City: “I’m sorry I can’t. Don’t hate me.”
Fans couldn’t be more excited to hear the announcement.
Well, now you know what Single Soon is intended for, as Gomez has not hidden her own single status this summer.
The singer-actress last public romantic relationship was with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in 2018.
Back in November 2022, Gomez told Zane Lowe that while she hasn’t had a boyfriend in the public eye in years, she will be divulging details about her private dating experiences in her upcoming music.
Speculation about the new song first broke over the weekend when the site illbesinglesoon.com teased the Gomez track.
In the latest, it has now been updated to a contest page, which says, “Do you have a friend or loved one going through a breakup, a heartbreak, or a dating dry spell? Celebrate being single soon (or single now) with everything you need for the perfect night out! Complete your entry below and if you win‚we’ll supply the rest.”
