17 Shah Noorani shrine pilgrims killed, more than 50 injured as truck falls into ditch

At least 15 out of the 17 deceased have been identified

17 Shah Noorani shrine pilgrims were killed and more than 50 injured in a fatal road accident.

The truck carrying the pilgrims fell into a ditch in Balochistan’s Hub district.

As reported, the incident occurred when a truck carrying pilgrims from Thatta had fallen into a ditch in the Hub district, while it was on its way to the Shah Noorani shrine in Khuzdar, Balochistan on Wednesday night.

According to Hub Assistant Superintendent of Police Ahmed Talha Wali, the incident took place at 10pm last night.

The critically wounded persons had been referred to the Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital in Hub and Civil Hospital’s Trauma Centre in Karachi.

According to rescue sources, a total of 17 dead and 38 injured have been identified.

All the deceased individuals in the truck accident were related to the Salar Jokhio family from the Makli district.
