Dr. Zafar Mirza Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health has resigned from his post on Wednesday.
This development comes shortly after the resignation of Tania Aidrus’s resignation as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Digital Pakistan.
Mirza also took to Twitter to announce his resignation. He said that he had come to Pakistan on the personal invitation of the premier after leaving the World Health Organisation (WHO).
“I have resigned as SAPM. I came to Pakistan on a personal invitation of @ImranKhanPTI leaving WHO. I worked hard & honestly. It was a privilege to serve Pakistan. I am satisfied that I leave at a time when COVID-19 has declined in as a result of a grand national effort”, he tweeted.
Earlier, Tania Andrus, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Digital Pakistan made the announcement that she has submitted her resignation to PM Imran Khan in “greater public interest” over her “citizenship” status.
