Ali Amin Gandapur allotted symbol of bottle; Internet reacts

Former K-P Revenue Minister Gandapur was booked by the Islamabad Police on Oct 31 2016 for possession, display of unlicensed weapons and liquor

Ali Amin Gandapur has been allotted the symbol of a bottle by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), as the PTI leader will contest as an Independent Candidate in the General Elections 2024.

Anchor person Waseem Abbasi was among the first to point out the development in a post on X.

And netizens soon joined in as Former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur has a history with a specific bottle.

In 2016, the capital city police claimed to have recovered bulletproof vests, two SMGs, a teargas firing gun, a handgun, bullets as well as a bottle of liquor from Gandapur.

“I can undergo a medical test and prove in the court that I was carrying honey and not liquor.” Gandapur had stated at that time.

And the allotment of a bottle symbol has sparked a hilarious response.

On Jan 9, the appellate tribunal of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday accepted the nomination papers of former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur from NA-44, PK-112 and PK-113.

The tribunal comprising Justice Faheem Wali allowed the appeals of the PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur.

The returning officers had rejected his nomination papers as he was declared absconder in different cases.
