All eyes are set on the Supreme Court to announce the verdict as PTI strives to clutch at the bat symbol!
After extensive hearing throughout the day on Saturday, the apex court reserved its verdict on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) petition against the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) January 10 order that restored the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) bat electoral symbol.
The verdict was to be announced at 9:30 pm initially.
Following the delay in the announcement of the verdict, ECP has also extended the time for allotment of electoral symbols for the fifth time, till 11:30 pm.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Musarrat Hilali heard the ECP’s petition filed against the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) January 10 order that restored PTI’s electoral symbol of bat.
