All Pakistanis from Sudan will be evacuated in the next 48 hours, Foreign Office said in a statement.

The Foreign Office in a brief statement issued on Monday said that nearly all 1,000 Pakistanis would be evacuated from the conflict-hit Sudan within the next 24 to 48 hours. 

FO informed that 93 more Pakistanis stranded in Sudan had reached the country in the fourth batch of evacuees. 

The latest batch arrived at Islamabad airport on Monday via flight no PK754, Foreign Office confirmed.

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi and Advisor to the Prime Minister Amir Makam welcomed the Pakistani nationals coming from Sudan at the airport.

Sajid Hussain Turi said that the total number of Pakistanis living in Sudan is around 1,200, including those Pakistanis who have returned home safely.

Amir Maqam said that the government will continue its efforts to evacuate the remaining Pakistanis stuck in Sudan, the government is bearing all the expenses of bringing stranded Pakistani citizens from Sudan to their homes in the country.

A total of 636 stranded Pakistanis have returned home as they landed in Karachi via Jeddah separately on five special PAF flights to date. 

With the latest batch of evacuees, as many as 729 Pakistanis have been repatriated to the country so far, FO said.

The FO has been working to repatriate Pakistanis stranded in the war zone ever since the conflict began earlier this month in Sudan.

The third batch of 97 Pakistani citizens from Port Sudan arrived at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi via Jeddah aboard PAF aircraft C-130 on April 29.

 

Earlier, in a tweet, the Foreign Office thanked the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for facilitating the evacuation process.

FO said, “We are grateful to our brotherly country Saudi Arabia for helping and supporting Pakistanis in this difficult time.”
