Journalist Asad Toor was sent int to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) remand for another three days in the case pertaining to his alleged involvement in a vile social media drive against Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, on Sunday.
Asad Toor was presented before the district and sessions court of Islamabad on Sunday. Where Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah presided over the hearing.
As reported, a journalist present in the courtroom made Asad Toor end his hunger strike.
Asad Toor, a journalist turned vlogger has been on a hunger strike since his detention by the FIA on February 27.
During today’s hearing, FIA pleaded with the court to grant Asad Toor’s remand for nine days, while the latter’s counsels opposed the request.
Duty Magistrate Abbas Shah, after hearing the arguments, reserved the verdict which approved the FIA’s plea and granted the Asad Toor’s remand for three days.
During arguments before the court, Asad Toor said he would neither surrender his mobile phone nor reveal his sources as sources were the most important thing for a journalist.
Asad Toor told the court that he was on a hunger strike, adding that they provided him with food but he willingly did not eat anything.
