August’s first bright supermoon illuminated night skies worldwide!
The full moon on Tuesday 1st August is a STURGEON SUPERMOON, meaning it appears bigger and brighter because it is at the closest point to Earth in its orbit.
The Aug. 1 full moon is the second of four consecutive supermoons, which occur when the Moon’s orbit is closest to Earth at the same time the moon is full.
Supermoons are about 16% brighter than an average moon.
Tonight the moon is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual due to its close proximity to the Earth.
The supermoon can be seen all over the world including Pakistan.
