Can Karachi Kings make it to a home final?

Karachi has had abysmal tournaments. Scrapping past Lahore, may have brought bragging rights, but performances have been very inconsistent. Year one, they were in turmoil with captaincy changes and a Ravi Bopara special scrapped them in the semi finals. Year 2, saw Pollard showing his range hitting a six last ball to take Karachi past the group stage. While they did beat Islamabad, they were unable to reach the final. Batting has been the main problem for them. Their big name did not win them matches, as their marque signing of Chris Gayle failed to deliver.

This year, while the popular names are on board, none more so than Shahid Khan Afridi, there seems to be a greater focus on runs. Colin Ingram could be categorised as a money ball signing. However, they will miss the power of the other Colin, Colin Munro. While, Lendl Simmons and Joe Denly are able to batsmen, they dont usually score at 150 strike rate, which Munro seems to be doing with ease. The upper and middle order would probably include Babar Azam, Ravi Bopara, and Mohammad Rizwan. All very capable batsmen in their own right. With Shahid Afridi, Imad Wasim, to follow the batting looks better on paper at least.
As for the bowling, with Mohammad Amir and Tymal Mills they have a decent pace attack. Usama Mir, Shahid Afridi and Imad Wasim make for a potent bowling attack. Karachi has assembled a decent squad this year and looked better equipped than the 1st 2 PSLs. Perhaps a home final beckons.
