Election to be held based on the new digital census says PM Shehbaz Sharif.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during an interview with a private news channel on Tuesday said that “We have to hold the elections on the basis of the new census … When a census has been conducted, the [polls] should be held on its basis unless there is an obstacle that cannot be overcome. But I don’t see [any such hurdle].”

The PM also said the census results would be referred to the CCI as soon as they were finalized.

PM Shehbaz added that “It is the Election Commission’s responsibility and they will hold elections.”

He, however, maintained that there is no reason for a delay in the election. 

Prime Minister also said that the PDM government’s tenure would be completed on August 12 but his government will go before completing its stipulated time.

PM Shehbaz also said that the assemblies would be dissolved before August 12.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also said that some retired and serving officers were involved in the incidents of May 9.

Chairman PTI instigated the Jatha against the state, and acted as a friendly enemy, general elections should be held under the new census, he added.

“We are fulfilling the constitutional requirements for elections in 90 days, giving respect to work is also a correct statement,” the PM added.

While giving an interview to Asma Shirazi in “Aaj News” program “Faisla Aap Ka”, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the price of petrol has decreased mostly in the last 3 months, the price of petrol is determined according to the international market.

“There was a sudden increase in oil prices globally, and we also had to increase the prices of petroleum products,” he added.
