Political candidates race for campaigns as February 6 marks the final curtain call ahead of the general elections 2024.

As per the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) directives, campaigning for Thursday’s general elections would end at 12 on the night between February 6 and 7, 2024,

ECP declared the period following February 6 and 7 a pre-poll silence period, prohibiting campaigning activities like rallies, public meetings, and media appearances, citing Section 182 of the Elections Act 2017.

This silent period is meant to provide voters with a space for reflection before they cast their ballots on the polling day on February 8.

Over 128 million registered voters across the country will have the opportunity to exercise their franchise and select their representatives for the 16th National Assembly and the provincial assemblies.
