A fake notification of a ban on Rs5,000 note is in circulation!
A fake notification in question which claimed to have been issued by the Finance Division, surfaced on social media on Thursday.
Interim Information Minister Murtaza Solangi took to X-platform on Thursday and dismissed a ‘notification’ circulating online that falsely claimed the government had imposed a ban on Rs5,000 currency notes, terming it “fake news”.
“This is fake,” Solangi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter while sharing a fake notification of a ban on Rs5,000 notes. “
The Govt of Pakistan shall act against the people spreading this kind of fake news to create chaos,” he added.
