Gaza plunges into darkness on Wednesday, the fourth day of Israel’s retaliation in response to Hamas’ attack!
Gaza’s only power plant has run out of fuel, forcing it to shut down after Israel cut off supplies, the Gaza Energy Ministry said Wednesday.
“The only power plant in the Gaza Strip stopped functioning at 2:00 pm (1100 GMT),” the authority’s head Jalal Ismail said in a statement.
Now only generators can power the besieged enclave with the power plant shut down. However that only depends on the availability of fuel.
Following Saturday’s Hamas attack, Israel has cut off supplies of food, fuel, electricity, and medicine in Gaza.
Officials in Gaza said that the enclave will experience a humanitarian catastrophe as the power plant completely shuts down due to a fuel shortage.
As reported, Israel is using white phosphorus bombs against civilians in the Karama neighborhood of the Gaza Strip after Tel Aviv vowed to escalate its response to an attack by Hamas with a ground offensive.
“The Israeli occupation is using internationally banned white phosphorus bombs against the Palestinians in the Karama neighborhood in northern Gaza,” the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said on X, formerly Twitter on Tuesday.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least 900 people have been martyred and 4,600 wounded in the crowded coastal enclave.
