Three crew members embrace martyrdom as the Pakistan Navy Westland WS-61 Sea King helicopter crashed in Balochistan’s Gwadar on Monday.
The helicopter reportedly crashed during a training flight due to a possible technical fault.
“Two officers and a soldier of the Pakistan Navy were martyred after a helicopter crashed during training in Gwadar due to a technical issue, a Pakistan Navy spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
An inquiry into the crash has been launched, the spokesperson added.
The unfortunate incident resulted in the martyrdom of three personnel on board, Pilot Lieutenant Commander Jawad, Assistant Pilot Lieutenant Commander Hamza, and Technician Hasnain.
PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz and National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf expressed grief over the lives lost in the incident.
