IG Sindh took notice of harassment of female students on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road!

Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police Riffat Mukhtar on Sunday directed the relevant senior superintendent of police to submit a report on the incident.

 

The development comes after a video went viral on social media showing a man riding a motorbike next to a university student van exposing himself.

As reported, one of the female students recorded the video of this indecent behavior.

According to the Central SSP Faisal Abdullah Chachar, the incident happened on Thursday (September 28) and the video was uploaded to social media by one of the female students traveling in the bus.

According to him, the female students traveling on the van are enrolled at the University of Karachi.

They were in the vehicle when a suspect chased and harassed them near the UBL Sports Complex opposite Lucky One Mall for around five minutes, he said.

He added that the victims had not reported the case yet, therefore, the police decided to register a case against the suspect on the state’s behalf through a police officer.

Meanwhile, concerted efforts were underway to arrest the suspect.
