Imran Khan gets protective bail in inciting mutiny case

The court accepted the request and granted the PTI chief protective bail until April 26

Imran Khan has been granted protective bail in inciting mutiny case on Friday.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan appeared before the Lahore High Court earlier in the day seeking protective bail in a case pertaining to making allegations against top officers of state institutions and inciting mutiny.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi presided over the hearing at the LHC.

While Barrister Salman Safdar appeared in the court as Imran Khan’s counsel.

The counsel requested the court for the former prime minister’s protective bail, citing that he was to go to Islamabad on April 18.

As reported, Imran Khan’s counsel requested the court to provide his client with protective bail until after Eid, as he had to go to Islamabad on April 18.

The court accepted the request and granted the PTI chief protective bail until April 26.

An FIR was registered at the Ramna police station against Imran Khan for using ‘inappropriate’ language against officers of an institution under sections 500, 505, and 138 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

A day earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted one-time permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to appear via video link in a case and extended his interim bail until May 4 in two cases after the police informed the court that the arrest was not required in the third case registered against him.
