Jahangir Tareen’s brother Alamgir commits suicide

Alamgir Tareen was the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans

Jahangir Tareen’s brother Alamgir Tareen is reported to have committed suicide.

As reported, the brother of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen, Alamgir Tareen allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head, under mysterious circumstances in Lahore on Thursday.

The police sources said Alamgir, 63, allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Lahore’s Gulberg area.

Later in the day, Jahangir Khan Tareen confirmed the reports. 

Jahangir Tareen, who had been presiding over a party’s meeting, left for his brother’s house.

Police sources said Alamgir had left a suicide note in which he mentioned his illness.

However, his acquaintances expressed their ignorance of any illness.

Alamgir Tareen was the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans .

According to Sultans’ official website, Alamgir Tareen was “a sports enthusiast who wanted to work towards establishing a solid platform for aspiring sportsmen and women and to provide them with the best possible resources to further develop their skills”.

He established a name for himself as a leading businessman in South Punjab. 

He had been operating one of the largest water purification plants in the country.

According to the family, Alamgir was single but was going to marry his fiance this December.
