Khawaja Asif mocked PTI for the party’s newly appointed chairman Barrister Gohar Khan.
Taking to social media on Sunday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Asif took a jib at Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s election as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) new chairman who has been PPP member for 14 years.
In a post on X-Platform, Khawaja Asif censured Imran Khan for handpicking Asif Ali Zardari’s “protégé” as the party’s new chairman.
“Imran Khan liked a diamond carved by Zardari sahib so much that he handed over his chair to him,” he wrote along with a photo of an old banner featuring Gohar Khan.
Gohar Khan is a former member of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) and contested the 2008 elections on the Zardari-led party’s ticket
PML-N senior leader stressed that the former premier is not willing to trust his colleagues who have been with him for years.
“It is difficult for a person who has deceived people all his life to trust others,” he wrote.
Barrister Gohar Khan was elected the new Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) chairman unopposed a day earlier.
