A man has been pleaded guilty for stealing a combined $122 million from Google and Facebook between 2013 and 2015, in an elaborate scheme involving a fake company, fake emails and fake invoices.
Evaldas Rimasauskas from Lithuania admitted to stealing more than $100 million from tech giants by forging invoices for purchases the companies had never made.
He managed to send invoices to the tech giants for items they had not even ordered. The astonishingly, both the tech giant companies paid the bills, not even checking if the invoices corresponded with their own records.
The 50-year-old has been pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in New York on Monday.
As being reported, he faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison at his sentencing, which has been scheduled for 24th July.
