The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday has increased the power tariff by Rs1.11 per unit, in accordance with the recent fuel adjustment rates.
The national power regulator said that the authority after incorporating the adjustments has reviewed and assessed an increase of Rs. 1.1 138/kWh in the applicable tariff for XWDISCOs on account of variations in the fuel charges for the month of September 2020.
The authority said during the period, the production cost of electricity was Rs3.95 per unit while the reference cost of electricity in September was Rs2.84 per unit.
The increase will be collected in December bills, NEPRA said.
However, this increase is not applicable to the electricity prices charged by K- Electric.
Lifeline consumers are also unaffected by the new power tariff, according to the notification.
