Pakistani-Canadian citizen shot dead in Karachi during mugging

Pakistani-Canadian citizen was shot dead in Karachi in another street crime incident.

The person was shot dead by muggers for resisting a robbery bid near the Paposhnagar railway gate area.

As reported, the victim has been identified as Amin Alvi who had recently come to Karachi, Pakistan to celebrate Eid.

The victim was on his way to take the deserving children for Eid shopping and four children were also present in the car when the incident happened.

The muggers shot him for resisting a robbery bid.

According to the Police, the Pakistani-Canadian citizen had visited a bank and a money exchanger before taking the children shopping.

The news of Amin Alvi’s murder has gone viral on social media and along with expressing grief and regret from the users, the government is also being severely criticized for failing to improve the law and order situation in Karachi.

A case of murder in this regard has been registered for resisting robbery near Karachi’s Nazimabad board office.

A case of the incident was registered in Paposh Nagar police station on the complaint of the victim’s sister, which includes the provisions of murder and attempted murder.

In the FIR, the victim’s sister said that her brother had come to Karachi from Canada. He was going to take his children for Eid shopping when 2 robbers tried to rob him near the Paposhnagar railway gate and the accused opened fire.

The children, witnesses of the incident told details to the police.

One of the children accompanying Alvi told that two armed men arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them got off the two-wheeler.

The culprit approached the car and asked the victim to hand over his cash and other valuables, the child told the police.

The child added that Alvi had agreed to do as the mugger said but pushed him back as soon as he slid his hand into the victim’s pocket.

The mugger to pulled the trigger and shoot Alvi before fleeing with his accomplice, the child added.

The child told that none of the drivers who had stopped by helped Alvi, who lay on the road for several minutes.

However, a rickshaw driver eventually took him to the hospital, where he passed during treatment, the child told.
