PTI is set to approach the court against ECP’s decision to regain the ‘bat’ electoral symbol!
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) a day earlier stripped the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of its iconic ‘bat’ symbol ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In its orders, ECP declared PTI’s intra-party elections unlawful and added that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who replaced Khan as the party’s chairman, is no longer the party’s top head.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) now-former chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan announced that the party would approach the Peshawar High Court (PHC) or the Supreme Court against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision stripping PTI of its election symbol ‘bat’.
Talking to journalists outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Saturday, Barrister Gohar Khan said that PTI’s petition for regaining the ‘bat’ electoral symbol would be filed on Tuesday morning.
He added that consultation in this regard had almost been completed.
