Sheikh Rashid rearrested after Pindi ATC rejects bail
Sheikh Rashid was rearrested on Tuesday after the Rawalpindi court rejected his bail plea in the May 9 case!
Rashid appeared before the ATC for the hearing of his bail plea today, which was presided over by ATC Judge Malik Asif Ejaz.
His Lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzak Khan confirmed that Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was arrested after a Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court rejected his bail in a case pertaining to violence in the country on May 9.
“He will be held at the New Town Police Station overnight,” the lawyer added.
According to Sardar Abdul Razzak, Sheikh Rashid had acquired bail in 12 out of 13 cases.
He informed that a bail plea in the fresh case would be filed tomorrow.
The AML leader was arrested in September last year by the Punjab police and was moved to an undisclosed location.
