The President of Tajikistan arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday on a two-day visit.
On the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President of Tajikistan Imam Ali Rehman has arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit.
Federal Minister of Commerce Naveed Qamar received the Tajik President.
A 21-gun salute was also given to him on this occasion.
During the two-day visit, the Tajik President will discuss further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various fields, and bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding will be signed.
Tajik President’s visit to Pakistan is expected to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in various fields and strengthen the growing geo-economic partnership.
His visit also marks the resumption of Somon Air’s direct weekly flights between Islamabad and Dushanbe. Direct flights cut down travel time from 24 hours to 1.5 hours.
Pakistan and Tajikistan are brotherly countries linked by long historical, cultural and religious ties.
These relations are based on mutual respect and exceptional harmony, both countries have the same point of view on various regional and international issues.
Tajikistan is Pakistan’s closest neighbour in Central Asia, with only the Wakhan Corridor between the two countries, this proximity makes Tajikistan an important partner of Pakistan in Central Asia.
