A teenager in Sikandarabad village of Gilgit–Baltistan, has accidentally shot and killed himself while filming a video on the video-sharing platform TikTok on Sunday.
The 17-year-old was reportedly filming himself for TikTok while holding his father’s pistol to his temple when he accidentally pulled the trigger and shot himself.
The family of the deceased refused an autopsy, the body of the teenager was handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities, police sources said.
The pistol was licensed and belonged to the boy’s father who is a labourer, said police.
Police said that the incident is not the first of its kind, a number of lives have been lost while filming a TikTok video.
