Virat Kohli to miss World Cup warm-up match against Netherlands

Kohli requested the team management for a leave owing to a personal emergency

Virat Kohli is likely to miss the World Cup warm-up match against the Netherlands, it emerges on Monday!

As reported, Team India traveled to Thiruvananthapuram from Guwahati, a four-hour journey via flight, on a special aircraft on Sunday evening, but Virat Kohli was not part of the group.

As per the Indian media reports, former Indian caption Virat Kohli took permission from the team management and left for Mumbai due to a personal emergency.

According to Cricbuzz, a source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the development, stating that Kohli is expected to join the team on Monday.

India’s first warm-up match against England was called off due to unfavorable weather conditions in Guwahati amid rain.

Team India will face the Netherlands on Tuesday in the second warm-up match.

India will open its ICC World Cup 2023 outing against Australia in Chennai on October 8.

India World Cup squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.

On the other hand, Virat’s sudden departure from Mumbai coincides with rumors circulating about his wife and actress Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy news.

Various entertainment outlets claim that the celebrity couple is expecting their second child.

Rumors are ripe that Anushka Sharma has consciously maintained a low profile and restricted her public appearances to stay away from public scrutiny and prevent further speculation.
