Naomi Osaka to donate Cincinnati prize money for Haiti relief!
Osaka, who has a Haitian father and Japanese mother, making an announcement on Tuesday said she plans to do more In addition to donating prize money from the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament to relief efforts in Haiti, where a 7.2 magnitude quake killed over 1400.
“Really hurts to see all the devastation that’s going on in Haiti, and I feel like we really can’t catch a break. I’m about to play a tournament this week and I’ll give all the prize money to relief efforts for Haiti. I know our ancestors blood is strong we’ll keep rising,” she said in a tweet.
In addition to donating prize money to relief efforts in Haiti following a deadly earthquake, tennis star Naomi Osaka, who is ranked Number 2 in the world, said she plans to do more.
“I feel like I’m not really doing that much,” Osaka said on Monday.
“I’m trying to figure out what I can do. The prize money thing was the first thing I thought I could do that would raise the most awareness. I guess that is the reason I announced it.”
