Pakistan spinner Noman Ali is recovering after emergency surgery for acute appendicitis!
In another blow to Pakistan side visiting Australia, spinner Noman Ali has been ruled out of the Test series.
As reported, the 37-year-old spinner, who did not feature in the opening Test in Perth, suffered severe abdominal pain on Friday.
“Noman Ali complained of sudden and severe abdominal pain yesterday, leading to examinations and scans in emergency that confirmed a diagnosis of acute appendicitis,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) notified in a statement.
“On surgeon’s advice, he underwent Laparoscopic Appendectomy today and he was stable and doing fine, but will take no further part in the three-Test series which resumes in Melbourne next week,” PCB added.
Ali has played 15 Tests and the last of which was against Sri Lanka in July.
In the latest development PCB on Saturday announed that Left-arm orthodox spinner Mohammad Nawaz will replace unfit Noman Ali for the ongoing Test series against Australia.
The national selection committee approved the selection of Nawaz, who’s already part of the squad playing the T20I series against New Zealand starting on January 12.
As reported, the 29-year-old bowler will fly to Australia right away.
