ICC World Cup: Pakistan, India match rescheduled to October 14

ICC has rescheduled nine fixtures of the much anticipated cricketing event

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced changes in the nine fixtures including the High-octane Pakistan-India match.

The face-off between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at this year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup — earlier scheduled for October 15 — will now be played in Ahmedabad on October 14 (Saturday).

Fixtures for the 50-over World Cup were announced in June after weeks of delays and less than two months before the tournament kicks, ICC has rescheduled nine fixtures.

The other changes in the ICC World Cup fixtures are as follows:

Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka has been brought forward by two days and will now be played on October 10.

Australia’s match against South Africa in Lucknow will be played on October 12.

England will take on Afghanistan in Delhi on October 15, a day after the original scheduled date.

New Zealand’s match against Bangladesh, originally scheduled as a day match for October 14 in Chennai, will now be held on October 13 as a day-night contest.

England’s match against Bangladesh in Dharamsala which was originally scheduled to be played under lights, has now become a day match.

Tickets for the World Cup will go on sale on August 25, the ICC said.
