#PAKvSL: It’s a do-or-die Super-4 clash in Colombo, if rain permits!

If the match is washed out due to rain, Sri Lanka will proceed to the finals due to their NRR.

It’s a do-or-die Super-4 clash in Colombo today if rain permits!

The weather conditions in Sri Lanka continue to be a headache for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) during the ongoing much anticipated Asia Cup 2023.

Rain is expected to interrupt the must-win Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka match in Colombo today. While intermittent rain is forecast throughout the day.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka cricket teams arrived at the Colombo stadium earlier today, while it started raining as well.

Pakistan on Wednesday announced their playing XI for the Super 4 match against Sri Lanka. The Green Shirts have made five changes in their lineup.

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) naming the playing eleven said  Mohammad Wasim Jnr and Zaman Khan will be part of the team in Thursday’s must-win game against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan also made changes in their batting lineup with Mohammad Haris replacing the out-of-form Fakhar Zaman.

Furthermore, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Nawaz have made it to the playing XI as Salman Ali Agha and Faheem Ashraf have been given rest in Thursday’s match.

Pakistan Playing XI:

Mohammad Haris, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan (vc), Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Zaman Khan.

Whoever wins today’s match, will qualify for the final.

With four points in the Super Four stage, India has confirmed their spot in the final while Sri Lanka and Pakistan both have two points each.

However, Sri Lanka’s NRR is at -0.2 meaning that if the match is washed out due to rain, the Lankan Tigers will proceed to the finals due to their NRR.
