While PSL 4 is just round the corner, the contract of the 2017 debut team, Multan Sultans’ has been terminated by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
According to news, the owners of Multan Sultans did not submit the bank guarantee, worth $5.2 million, for the fourth edition of PSL despite constant reminders.
The fate of Multan Sultans’ can now be decided two ways in the next edition of PSL.
The board might either decide to go through the process of rebidding and selling the franchise to a new organisation for the next edition only or also on a long term basis.
Also since PSL 4 is due in a few months, the PCB can also opt to manage Multan Sultans’ themselves and put off the bidding process for this one season.
