Sanjay Manjrekar blocks Michael Vaughan after Twitter spat

The online teasing between former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar and ex-England skipper Michael Vaughan over Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has come to a sour finish as Manjrekar ended up blocking Vaughan on Twitter site, as per the Englishman.

This all started after Ravindra Jadeja made his second appearance of the tournament and as it turned out, his bowling and fielding were India’s vitals against New Zealand in the incomplete semi-final on Tuesday.

Vaughan, who has been caught up in a spat with Manjrekar over Jadeja, took the opportunity to troll him constantly over this. Then, as the New Zealand batsmen struggled to get Jadeja away.

Revealing it on social media, Vaughan took to twitter writing: “BREAKING NEWS .. I have been blocked by @sanjaymanjrekar .. !!! #CWC19.”

Though, in a later tweet, Vaughan asks Manjrekar to unblock him.

Both the cricket pundits, Jadeja and Manjrekar have been in the news lately, as the latter called him a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer and the same didn’t go down well with Jadeja as he asked the cricketer-turned-commentator to respect players.

After India made it into the semifinal, Manjrekar had picked Jadeja in his team and that became the reason that former England skipper Vaughan pulled his leg. But Manjrekar was quick to shut him down.

Vaughan had responded to Manjrekar’s tweet and wrote: “I see you have picked that bits and pieces cricketer!!!”

Replying to Vaughan’s tweet, Manjrekar wrote: “‘Predicted’ my dear Vaughan…not ‘my’ team”.

While speaking to the news agency, Manjrekar had said on the eve of the Bangladesh game that he still wanted to back Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav despite their poor performance against England.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-overs cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar said.

Reacting to this, Jadeja had asked the expert to learn to respect people.
Jadeja tweeted: “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea .@sanjaymanjrekar (sic.).”

On Saturday during the India-Sri Lanka game in which Jadeja featured, Manjrekar called him a ‘street-smart’ cricketer.
