Twitter hit by huge a outage worldwide

Twitter has been hit by a huge outage worldwide on Wednesday.

The visitors to the micro-blogging site saw what appeared to be a welcome page as if they did not follow anyone on Twitter. The message encouraged the users to click through and find the first people to follow.

“Welcome to Twitter!” the message read. “This is the best place to see what’s happening in your world. Find some people and topics to follow now.”

As reported, users were unable to post new tweets – even as there was no feed to actually view them in.

According to DownDetector, In Ireland, 100% of the people reported problems with the website while in the US, 50% of users are having issues with the desktop site. This was followed by the app (41%) and server connection (9%).

Meanwhile, Twitter users in other countries including Turkiye and Australia have also reported problems with the site.

A number of users are also having issues with refreshing their Twitter feed and others are having trouble with sending DMs.

No statement has been made by the social media giant as of yet – but seemingly Twitter is back as timelines are returning to normal for many users.

Twitter timeline is laden with all sorts of complaints, queries and memes featuring the hashtag #TwitterDown.

This new major outage came after Twitter fired as many as 200 more employees over the weekend, according to reports.
