YouTube is shutting off the Stories feature!
YouTube announced it will pull the plug on Stories on June 26.
The temporary video format — a Snapchat clone that auto-deleted after seven days — was first introduced in 2017 under the name Reels and offered to creators with more than 10,000 followers.
The company said that YouTube Shorts are great alternatives that can deliver valuable audience connections and conversations.
YouTube added that creators who use both posts and Stories, posts on average, drive many times more comments and likes compared to Stories.
The company said that it is removing stories to concentrate on Community posts and Shorts.
Meanwhile, it recommends using Community posts to share lightweight updates, start conversations, or promote YouTube content.
