Ethiopian Airlines is restoring its Karachi route after nearly two decades

Karachi is going to be Ethiopian Airlines’ 37th destination in Asia.

Ethiopian Airlines, the national flag carrier of Ethiopia and the biggest African airline is restoring its Karachi route after nearly two decades!

Karachi is going to be Ethiopian Airlines’ 37th destination in Asia.

As reported, the first direct flight of the prominent aviation group in Africa will land at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi on May 9, 2023.

In April, the airline announced that it will be returning to Karachi in May as it has finalized its preparations.

Ethiopian Airlines first served the flight operation for Karachi from July 1966 to December 1971 and later resumed its service from June 1993 until July 2004.

Ethiopian Airlines has a fleet of around 150 aircraft and operates flights to over 130 destinations.

Tt will serve as a means to connect Pakistan with the African continent by operating two direct flights per week between Karachi and Addis Ababa.

A full-fledged Ethiopian embassy was established in Islamabad in 2022, even though the two countries have had diplomatic ties dating back to 1958, a total of 64 years.
