8th grader Raadeyah Aamir selected for NASA internship program

A proud moment for Pakistan. 12-years-old student Raadeyah Aamir has been selected for the NASA’s one-week internship program. She will be attending the one-week program which includes training for next-generation Astronaut Training Experience.

Raadeyah is an 8th-grade student at the British Overseas School, Karachi. This young girl has always been fascinated with the study of space. And wishes to travel in space by becoming an astronaut.

Half of her wish is about to come true as she will be traveling to NASA Kennedy Space Centre Orlando, Florida from Karachi Jinnah International Airport on 16 of February.

In this once in a lifetime opportunity, Raadeyah is going to get the chance to train as the next generation of space explorers in the Astronaut Training Experience.

As being reported the training session will include land, walk and drive on Mars through virtual and motion simulation, and will also conduct a spacewalk in the microgravity experience.

Furthermore, during her internship training, she will be able to live and work on Mars for the day at the center’s Mars Base and will be working to solve base emergencies, program robots to optimize solar energy and sustain life in the botany lab, amongst other exciting things.

For sure, Raadeyah is pretty excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity she has received by getting selected in this internship.

Sharing her excitement for her space journey, Raadeyah said that it is her ambition to go to NASA for one week at the Kennedy Space Centre and wave Pakistani green flag.

Talking to OyeYeah, Raadeyah said, “I am very much interested in space exploration and glittering stars in the galaxy. I want my country people to pray for my success in this regard”.
