The deadly pandemic, coronavirus, has claimed more than 200,000 lives around the world. People are still critically ill and at risk of exposure to the highly contagious virus.
Amongst the tally, actor Riz Ahmed shared that he had also lost two of his family members to COVID19.
According to Ahmed coronavirus has been “reflecting and revealing the faultlines in our society” but he hopes that the deaths of his family members “aren’t for nothing”.
Riz Ahmed also believed that the deadly virus was similar to what we had seen in movies and to fight it people had to be together as the star stated in an interview, “Coronavirus is on some level an alien invasion, isn’t it? It’s bringing humanity together against the common enemy. So there is this potential for this momentous, unique-in-the-history-of-our-species moment, of us all, going through this crazy challenge together and only being able to get through this together.”
Amongst other things Riz Ahmed however also expressed concern for the treatment of Muslims by India’s nationalist government, and how the disease had been attacking the different races in the UK and the US harder than anywhere else.
