Fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld left strict instructions on how to mourn him

One of the most influential and celebrated designers of the 21st century and an iconic, universal symbol of style Karl Lagerfeld,  had left his shop staff instructions on how he should be honoured after his death.

World’s most celebrated fashion designer passed away from pancreatic cancer aged 85 on Tuesday, 19th of February 2019.

According to the media reports The fashion designer, known as a notorious perfectionist, had written a manual dictating everything from the flowers to how to speak to customers offering their condolences.

The five-page manual instructs employees to remove all items from the shop window and place a single bouquet of white roses with a company statement on display.

The fashion mogul had written orders for shop staff to ‘locally purchase a large, white flower bouquet existing out of white roses, to place in the middle of the (main) window.’

Lagerfeld had further written that the roses must have 120cm (47in) long stems and should only be placed in a transparent or basic white vase.

Karl Lagerfeld will be cremated without ceremony and his ashes are likely to be scattered with those of his mother and lover, his label said in a statement on Wednesday, 22nd of February 2019.

In an interview with Numero in April 2018, world’s most celebrated fashion designer revealed, “I’ve asked to be cremated and for my ashes to dispersed with those of my mother… and those of Choupette (his cat), if she dies before me.”

According to E! News, Lagerfeld’s decision to be cremated was inspired by French singer Johnny Hallyday’s funeral in 2017.

Choupette, a Burmese cat, stands to inherit a chunk of the designer’s estimated $300 million net worth, after he wrote her into his will in 2015, according to Le Figaro.

It was last year when in an interview with Numéro Lagerfeld confirmed that his cat, among others, would be an heiress to his vast fortune.

Lagerfeld told Numero in an earlier interview, “Don’t worry, there is enough for everyone,” he said. Among Choupette’s most admired traits? “She doesn’t talk”.

Before Kar Lagerfeld’s death, Choupette has nearly 250,000 followers on Instagram. The famous feline already had an income, appearing in advertisements for cars and beauty products.

Choupette had been named an ambassador for French carmaker Opel, was the subject of two books and had her own line of makeup for Shu Uemura, according to Le Figaro.
