Renowned religious scholar, Maulana Tariq Jameel was admitted to a private hospital in Jauhar Town Lahore yesterday, after he complained of angina.
At the hospital, Dr. Tahir Kamal, elder brother of Maulana, performed his angiography, diagnosing a blocked artery, following which, the doctor performed angioplasty to remove the blockage and place a stent to restore blood flow.
Following the successful procedure, Maulana Tariq Jameel was shifted to a room. “His condition is stable now, but doctors have advised him to rest for 24 hours in the hospital,” shared Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Jameel, Maulana’s son.
Maulana Tariq Jameel has been travelling around the world to preach Islam. It was his return from his trip to Canada last night when Maulana complained of angina pain. According to family sources, Maulana Tariq Jameel had also suffered from the same pain six year ago, following which a stent had been placed after angioplasty.
