Meghan Markle’s secret to luminous skin is a drugstore product?

People from the whole world religiously followed the Royal Wedding and its proceedings. When the couple’s wedding look was revealed, everyone went gaga over Meghan Markle’s appearance. Gorgeous dress, minimal makeup, elegant look yet beautifully glowing skin! Of course, she’s always looked impeccable, but her wedding look was something so refreshing yet glamorous that everyone wanted to seek the secret behind her luminous face.

We all get crazy over how celebrities’ skin look beautiful and flawless. It is a common thinking that celebrities, especially the royal family members, must use skincare stuff (creams, serums and moisturizers) from high end, luxury brands to make their skin look so youthful, fresh and luminous. Well, Meghan Markle’s makeup artist revealed something about Meghan’s wedding makeup which stunned every skincare and makeup junkie out there!

Daniel Martin, Makeup Artist

It’s been about four months that the Royal Wedding of the century took place and Meghan’s glow game is still going strong. Meghan Markle’s longtime makeup artist, Daniel Martin, revealed the secret behind this glow earlier this month. And it’s nothing like what we usually expect about the products used by celebrity makeup artists. Yes, here we are, talking about Aquaphor, a $5 balm!

In his interview with E! News, he said,

“A lot of my highlighting is done with skincare. Before highlighters, you would do highlighting with Aquaphor. Aquaphor will give you that same texture, especially in a photo [when applied] on the high points of the face.”

He also told InStyle that Prince Harry really liked how Meghan Markle looked.

“I know exactly what [Meghan] does and doesn’t like. After the ceremony, Harry kept saying, ‘thank you.’ He was thanking me for making her look like herself. The last thing you want [is] to look at your wedding pictures and go, ‘Remember when highlighting was the rage?’ At the end of the day, you want to look like your best self.”

Martin said that now he also uses Honest Beauty Balm, a $13 product which gives the same effect as Aquaphor. He also likes using Honest Beauty Balm under his favourite Dior highlighter to give the skin a little more oomph.

Price tag doesn’t always giveaway the quality of a product. In fact, there are many drugstore products that are a part of celebrities’ go-to makeup routine. It’s all about what works best for you and how you can make things work. And since Auqaphor works well for all skin types, you can easily get the ‘Meghan Markle glow’ for just $5!
