Fulfilling his promise to friend, Imran Khan, former Indian cricketer, Navjot Singh Sidhu has finally arrived in Pakistan to attend IK’s oath taking ceremony as a prime minister.
Sidhu arrived in Lahore via the Wagah Border, today, i.e. 17th August 2018 for Imran Khan’s swearing in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, 18th August 2018.
Talking to reporters, Sidhu said, “Athletes and artists erase distances and I have come here bearing the message of love, and prayers for Pakistanis.”
“I have come to Pakistan on my friend’s invitation. These are very special moments. Hindustan jeevey, Pakistan jeevey,” added the former cricketer star.
Invited alongside Navjot Singh Sidhu were Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, both of whom apologized from attending Imran Khan’s oath taking ceremony as prime minsiter, citing personal reasons.
Sidhu will travel to Islamabad for the oath-taking ceremony on August 18. Voting for Pakistan’s next Prime Minister will be held today, although it is said Imran Khan has already won due to fallout in the opposition parties and of course PTI’s large majority.
