Former US president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are currently running their production house business and keeping a high profile amongst the people even after his stepping down from White House.
Obama’s production company ‘Higher Ground’ has been in negotiation with Netflix for a large variety of shows and films about a period of eleven months.
The production house announced on Tuesday its seven projects with the streaming service. The projects are scheduled to be aired in the coming years.
The projects include documentaries and biopic about Frederick Douglass. Higher Ground signed a multiyear production deal last year to produce shows and movies for Netflix.
With the agreement, Obamas will be able to reach millions of paying subscribers of the streaming service and the content would be a wide range of programming that will be free of any political views serving to educate, entertain and inspire with positive instincts at the same time.
The production to be aired soon would be a documentary American Factory that examines the life in Ohio where a Chinese billionaire opens a factory in a former General Motors plant creates tension between high-tech China and working class America.
Another film Bloom is also in the works based on the plot—the challenges faced by women and people of colour in New York’s post World War II fashion industry.
There is also a half an hour preschool series with the fun title Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents. The show would educate children about eating and living healthy.
