Veteran writer, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar recently caused quite a stir in the media with his misogynist statements regarding women in an interview.
In his interview, Khalil ur Rehman blatantly went on to state how he doesn’t really care if someone tried him under the #MeToo campaign, but he would never call every woman a woman.
Talking about the concept behind Meray Pass Tum Ho, Khalil ur Rehman added, “A man leaves all his honour, his self-esteem with his wife when he goes out to earn a living. And I curse those women who violate that trust. That was the concept behind Mere Pass Tum Ho and so I’m fighting for the ‘good women’. It would be unfair to these [good] women to be classified along with those who aren’t loyal.”
Adding that he was a selective feminist, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar stated that he only stood for the loyal women out there and none other.
Qamar made several other misogynist statements in his interview, which caused quite a stir amongst all, making a number of celebrities come out and speak against his believes.
