Prince Harry Hints on Not Having More Than Two Kids

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently welcomed their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, and while the new parents are happily embracing the parenthood, the Duke has hinted on his plans for future children.

While talking to conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall for the upcoming September issue of Vogue – exclusively guest-edited by Duchess Meghan Markle – Harry shed light on various aspects in a candid interview.

While talking about environment and the effects of ever increasing global warming, the Duke emphasized on every individual recognizing his responsibility towards making a better planet. Harry added that as parents, the duty is increases manifolds as we intend to leave a better planet for our children.

“What we need to remind everybody is: these are things that are happening now. We are already living in it. We are the frog in the water and it’s already been brought to the boil. Which is terrifying,” said the Duke.

He added, “I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

Dr. Jane jokingly reminded him to not have “too many children” to which the Duke of Sussex responded, “Two maximum”.

“But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation,” the prince reiterated.

In the candid interview the Duke of Sussex also voiced his concern over unconscious racism which he believes is passed on from one generation to the other. The Duke stated that albeit one believes he’s not racist, it’s a part of his upbringing to the cultural bias.

“When you start to peel away all the layers, all the taught behaviour, the learned behaviour, the experienced behaviour, you start to peel all that away and at the end of the day, we’re all humans,” said Harry.
