Sahir Ali Bagga, a popular singer, music director, and composer, has finally revealed the cause of the rift between him and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
It was last week when an Instagram post by Shair went viral on social media, within the post he called out Rahat with bad names.
However, it emerges that Sahir Ali Bagga alleges Rahat Fateh Ali Khan did not credit him for ‘Zaroori Tha,’ a song that was released in 2014.
In a Facebook post, Bagga maintained that Khan was “the best talent of Pakistan” and that Bagga himself always attempted to help Pakistani talent be recognized globally.
According to the ‘Mumkin To Nahi’ singer, he created ‘Zaroori Tha’, not knowing that it would become “a historic song of the Pakistan music industry”.
Bagga added that the song was currently “at the top in terms of Pakistani music industry, and content” and had almost two billion views on YouTube.
Sahir Ali Bagga maintained that it was his right to be credited as a creator. And also demanded an explanation as to why Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the “hero of the project”, was not giving him credit.
He also mentioned his now-deleted Instagram story where he dubbed Rahat Fateh Ali Khan a “hypocrite.”
Bagga said that if he called someone a hypocrite he “called every person a hypocrite who wants to hide the truth and is trying to kill someone’s right”.
Bagga also requested that he should be given the due credit for the song because it was his “right” and because he did not want junior artists who idolized him to “face problems in their struggle”.
“Apart from this I have no intention of saying anything bad about anyone,” he concluded.
